The beating heart of real Birmingham since medieval times, the markets are a great place to buy almost anything under the late summer sun!
And on 28 August – for one special day – the famous St Martin’s Rag Market, not usually on Wednesdays – is open for business alongside the Indoor and Open Markets and an Antiques and Collectables Fair.
In all you’ll find more than 700 stalls to browse – and there’s plenty of fun for the kids with rides, face-painting and cute animals to pet.
Antiques and Collectables Fair
Rummage around up to 100 stalls packed with vintage curiosities. But you’ll have to be an early bird to catch the best bargains – stallholders will set up from 7am outside St Martin’s Rag Market.
Bull Ring Open Market
Some 130 stalls selling an enormous range of bargain everyday essentials and special treats, with seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables delivered daily from local farms as well as foods reflecting the city’s diverse cultures.
Bull Ring Indoor Market
More than 80 stalls, with traditional butchers and fishmongers selling fresh produce from local farms and fisheries alongside more exotic fish and meat.
Services range from tailoring to jewellery repairs, and goods include shoes, clothes, curtains, bedding, greetings cards and hair and beauty products. Stock up in time for the new school term!
St Martin’s Rag Market
The Rag Market is famous worldwide for its range of materials and a bewildering array of other goods over 350 stalls.
You’ll find plenty of surprises and wonderful bargains: from fabrics to florists, shoes to stamp collecting, cutlery to clothes. Soak up the ambience of traditional Birmingham.
